motionball Welcomes You to the Night Life

This February motionball presents its eleventh annual Toronto Gala, a night of glamour, dancing, open bar, gourmet treats and good people raising money for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. I chatted with Paul Etherington, Chairman & Co–Founder of motionball, to get the scoop on the night’s events.

Where and when is this year’s gala, Welcome to the Night Life?

We will see everyone Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at the Carlu (444 Yonge Street). Doors open at 9:00 pm and we’ll slow things down at 2:00 am.

This event has become a must attend event for young professionals in the city. How many people are you expecting this year?

We’re hoping to sell 1,500 tickets in advance, which would help us reach our $250,000 fundraising goal for the night. The money raised will benefit the Special Olympics Canada Foundation and fund sporting programs for Canadians living with intellectual disabilities. After this event, we will have raised 3 million dollars for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation to date.

Ok Paul, get our toes tingling about this event. What can we expect?

The night kicks off with an Under Armour Underwear Fashion Show. Yes gents, this is one fashion show you can enjoy too. We’ll have DJ Kissette and Scratch Bastid spinning until 2:00 a.m. To refuel after dancing all night, we’ll serve a decadent chocolate dessert buffet AND a midnight buffet with delicious late night snacks. Ladies, we’ve got your hair and make up covered with touch up stations. And there will be a silent auction with luxury items including trips to Fiji and New York, Leafs and Raptors tickets, spa retreats and more. We’ll hook you up with giveaways including taxi vouchers and restaurant certificates throughout the night. Did I mention, the Carlu will be packed with 1,500 of the city’s hottest young professionals?
